Feb 20, 2021 · Today, any gas furnace that you buy will have at least an 80% AFUE. Mainly because that's the current government minimum. You can't legally install a gas furnace with a lower AFUE. Not that you would actually want to do that. 80% AFUE gas furnaces are really reasonably priced.
