Characteristics of a High Pressure Boiler Power of Steam: Water expands 1600 times to form steam, which can carry large amounts of heat. This makes water an economical and ideal raw material for generating heat and power. High pressure boilers heat water to create steam at over 15 psi and have water pressure over 160 psig. Combustion Efficiency
What defines a high pressure boiler? If you are unfamiliar with boilers and the power of steam, you might expect high pressure to mean anything over 100 PSI. This seems reasonable, right? 100 is a big three-digit number, but did you know that a high pressure boiler is defined as having a max allowable working pressure (or MAWP) above 15 PSI?
Jan 29, 2010 · If the boiler does not respond, then you should remove the thermostat control from the wall and take off the wiring at the back (after turning off the main current). Place the thermostat face down on a counter, and open the back. You may find a blown fuse, loose wires, or other obvious faults that can be repaired.
The burner will modulate between low and high firing rates depending on the steam pressure inside the boiler and where the modulation control is set. If the boiler setpoint is 80 PSI and the pressure in the boiler is 81 PSI, the modulation control should be sending a signal to the burner to drive to a lower firing rate if it is not already in low fire.

So we might see 15 psi for a 20 story building steam system. 20 psi = 1.4 Bar or about 137900 Pascal of pressure - typical low-end of high-rise building steam boiler pressure settings. 40 psi = 2.8 Bar or about 275790 Pascal of pressure - typical high-end of high
